Born in Iberville-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Helen Kelly is attracted to drawing and colors at a very young age. Early on, she demonstrates her artistic sensitivity in painting. her training began in the early sisties with pottery, watercolors and engraving.
She has a Certificate and a Baccalaureate in Plastic Arts from the University of Quebec in Montreal. She uses traditional supports such as wood, plaster, collages and canvas and favors large compositions. Charcoal or ink drawings keep an important place in her creative process.
One the founding members of the engraving shop "L'Estempille" in Dunham, Quebec, Helen Kelly has, since 1980, exhibiting her work throughout the province. Her creativity and the poetry of her work give a very personal touch to her art. She now resides in Sutton in the Eastern Twonships. Her works are exhibited at the Galerie des Arts & Culture in Montreal and, in October 2004, at Agur Gallery in Sutton.
